The Social Security Administration recently published information giving the average processing time at each of its hearing offices. The numbers represent the time from the day the hearing is requested until a decision is issued.
The longest waits are in San Juan, Puerto Rico (864 days), Chicago (820 days) and New York (772 days). The shortest time frames are Providence, Rhode Island (325 days), Boston (352 days) and North Houston (360 days).
